CAPSI-IPSF > How to apply for exchange?

To participate to the student exchange program, you have to be a CAPSI member to be a member of IPSF. Exchanges are run through the whole year, but most of them happen during summer (i.e. May to September). They are usually from 1 to 3 months. Students may select from work sites in retail, hospital, industrial and university based pharmacy settings, depending on the availability of the hosting country. Compensation depends highly on the country and host site. Occasionally room and board are provided by the host and some countries also provide a small amount of pocket money. Travel expenses and insurance are the responsibility of the student.

Step-by-step instructions on how to apply

For help on how to fill out the application form, please see the SEP Student Guidelines.

You will have to fill squares in order to describe your educational background, interests, motivation, CV, previous experience. Upon submitting your application you will be required to pay an application fee. If you cannot be placed, you will be reimbursed a portion of this fee. The deadline to apply for summer 2010 is December 22nd, 2009.

Since CAPSI is only allocated a very limited number of applications, not all applications will be approved. If your application is approved, the SEO will contact you and your application will be officially submitted to IPSF. Once it is submitted, your application will go to the SEO of the countries you have selected who will then work on placing you.

As the IPSF SEP is an exchange program, we need students to help recruit exchange sites in Canada. We need students who will help recruit pharmacy sites (hospital, community, industry and university research) and accommodation sites for exchange students. The time commitment is not very high for these positions and simply require following up on pharmacies. Most sites are recruited through networking and thus, having YOU involved is very important!
